You know 1 Cor. 11:7, “For a man ought not to have his head covered, since he is the image and glory of God; but the woman is the glory of man”, doesn’t mean that women exists to glorify us. No it means they are the crème dela crème of mankind. Adam was the Beta model of humanity; then Eve was made. Women become the archenemy of the Enemy. He zeroes in on her. And fallen men help.
We have succeeded in convincing many intelligent women that the answer to an unplanned pregnancy inflicted on them by a man is for them to kill their baby. We’ve convinced them that it is not demeaning to disrobe for men paying them well for their loss of modesty, scruples, and self-respect. And as Chesterton remarked over a century ago when women were pressing for the vote: Men came home from parliament and told their wives how grave, important, and exciting politics was and they believed them. Well, now we’ve got them clamoring to be part of the hell of war.
What heretofore – at least since the West was settled – would’ve been a sign of a complete collapse of a home, city, state, country: women manning the barricades, we’ve convinced women is their first duty. Never mind about their hand rocking the cradle ruling the world. Use it instead to pick up a rifle and go to war. Do something really important. And not only did the women believe us, they demanded it as their right!
Unless you’ve been living under the proverbial rock you know what a phenom Caitlin Clark is in the Women’s National Basketball league. It’s doubtful she can turn the whole league around. Since it’s inception WNBA has been underwritten by the NBA to the tune of 10 million a year. However, where she plays people are showing up. WNBA typically gets about 1,700 in the stands. Where she has been playing they have had to get arenas that seat up to 5,000.
I watched women’s basketball at UT in 1982. It was a different game. Now they definitely play more like men not as fast but faster, not as powerful but more powerful. But to hear people talk you’d expect Caitlin Clark to be drafted by the NBA. That’s the holy grail of all feminists. Biologically that’s not going to happen, but we men have got them to buy in to an even bigger lie: It’s only fair that a man trapped inside of woman’s body should be allowed to play in your leagues.
Title IX came out in 1972 and basically insures that there are women’s sport’s scholarships and it has men’s sports, mostly football, pay for that equal opportunity. This has led to women’s professional leagues of soccer, basketball, volleyball, and maybe softball. This will all come tumbling down when males who identify as females are allowed to compute in women’s sports. I know they are trying to impose physiological things that will take away the male’s innate physical advantage. But watch them compete in high school and college against women in track, swimming, and basketball, you won’t be fooled.
Along these lines Chesterton remarked: “A woman putting up her fists at a man is a woman putting herself in the one and only posture in which she does not frighten him. Every other attitude or gesture, every turn of head or hand, is capable at times of shaking him like a dynamite explosion. He is afraid of a woman’s tongue, and still more her silence. He is afraid of her endurance, and still more her collapse. He is afraid of her sanity and her insanity, of her laughter and her tears. The only part of her he is not afraid of is her deltoid muscles” (Collected Works, XXIX, 74, “Suffrage and the Family”, April 22, 1911).
In the early 2000’s, an owner of a WNBA franchise quipped: the only way we’re going to get more men in the seats is to put the women in halter tops and short shorts. It’s a denial of reality to say that the WNBA is going to be on par with NBA or that a wannabe woman is not going to be more athletic than most biological woman.
Did you know that all the dogs the Soviet Union sent into space in the 50’s and 60’s were female? Why? Because there was no room in the nosecone for male dogs to lift their legs and relive themselves (Harpers, June 2024, 18). The Soviets have always been hardcore feminists – aka women haters, but even they knew some biological differences are fixed.
And if you don’t think this issue – the differences between how males and females relieve themselves – is important. This is one of the ways the OT distinguished men from women: Read 1 Sam 25:22; 25:34; I Kings 14:10; 16:11; 21:21; 2 Kings 9:8. Also recall when the former LCMS pastor transitioned to the female physique and then repented himself for doing so, he highlighted how much he missed peeing standing up. Finally, read Ashely’s War. (This is the book to give your daughter, granddaughter, friend who is thinking about going into the military. The author is pro-women in combat. Ashely’s sad story belies that position.) It’s story of how the Army in a round about way put women in combat before it was officially authorized. See how the issue of women relieving themselves is real, matters, and can’t be ignored.
Woman the glory of man? From my perspective, at best we’re peeing on them and telling them it’s raining.
